Hevea Bath Toy, Fred The Frog

I've been weary of what goes in my son's mouth when it comes to his teething, but never until recently thought about it when he takes a bath. He started grabbing his other bath toys and likes to play with them and now put them in his mouth. That's when I sought out this frog! I was highly considering the pack of 3, but had a hard time justifying the price (even though if I bought all 3 separately it would cost more than the pack), but its also trial and error with what baby will take to as well. So, that's why I decided on the ONE toy instead of the pack of 3. He loves his little froggie... and loves to chew on it. Very easy for my 5 month old to chew on its little feet. It puts my mind at ease knowing that froggie is safe for my son to not only play with, but teethe on as well. I also really like that there are NO holes in it for water to get into. I never thought of water being trapped and molding (which I recently shook some of his other bath toys and sure enough there is water that I just can't seem to squeeze out). The frog also floats upright without a problem. My son loves froggie so much that when I go to take him out of his bath he grips onto his froggie so that he has something to 'gnaw' on while I get him ready for bedtime. I'm happy I made the purchase and will be considering more items from this company :-)

First thing I noticed even before taking it from the package was that there was something on the toy. But I was wrong it's IN the toy. Hard to tell if the particles are inside or in the actual mix of the rubber. Lots of trapped bubbles in the rubber as well. Giving it a dingy poor quality look. For the price I'm shocked at the quality. " Dog chew toy" is what my hubby said when he saw it. I have to agree. It's obvious as well that a child with a few teeth would destroy this thing with the first few bites. It's air filled and rather thin is most of the body. The feet are solid and soft. If the whole thing were that way and there were not foreign objects trapped in the rubber it would have been ideal.We are returning it. :-(

So monotone that it's hard to tell what it is but an enjoyed bath toy nonetheless. Great texture for teethers

My son loves to chew on natural rubber, and I thought this might be a nice addition. Unfortunately, the quality is mediocre. It is not meant to be a teething toy, perhaps, but I think ALL infant toys are essentially teething toys, so I'm including that in this review. There was an air bubble in the rubber on the leg which had burst, leaving an ugly gap and loose pieces of rubber that could have become a choking hazard. I pulled the loose pieces off, but it was still ugly. My son proceeded to chew on it (the legs) for a few minutes, then flung it onto the floor and never reached for it again. There is no contrast on the toy, nothing whatsoever to grab or hold a baby's attention, it just looks like an orange blob. I don't understand why they don't use food-grade paint, like the Vulli toys do, to add some visual interest to the toys. My son can't get enough of his natural rubber (Vulli) Sophie Giraffe. Too bad.

Perfect for the bath because they float and won't get water (which leads to mould) inside. Plus it's assuring to know that my baby isn't being exposed to harmful chemicals, toxins and paints when she chews on it!

We bought this as a bath toy...but when it came, of course we had to give it to her to play with immediately. She LOVES it! She's got some colorful haba wood toys, but will many times choose this over her other brightly colored toys. She likes chewing on the feet. We've used it in the bath once since we purchased it and it works nicely-floats and no water gets inside since it's sealed. Will be getting other animals from Hevea shortly!

I do not know what is so special about it, but the LO loves to chew it (mostly legs of the frog)It fits in her little hands and works more like a theether so far(she likes it much better than any othe theether). Do not know how durable it will be since she is chewing it all the time now... It does hold upright on the water.Would give 5 stars if it was cheaper.Also have a note on the construction/material : it does have a hole in the bottom taht is filed with another piece of rubber, those two pieces arre glued together somehow. I hope thes glue is also non-toxic.

Had a problem with one but the second was perfect. I love that this brand is making toys now as we used their teethes many years ago! Great brand and amazing item! So safe!
