Q: The handle is just about the most important thing to me because of arthritis. Is it strong and secure?

Overall I’d say yes, however, be aware that it isn’t permanently attached and can become loose. I don’t see this as an issue...just lift it up and carry on. 99.9% of the time it stays in place. It’s come off when I’ve kind of plunked the cup down. This design is not a problem. I carry my cup with me everywhere I go. Got to have my cold water by my side.

Q: Has anyone else had the mug stop keeping cold? I'm on my second one that stopped. I guess it lost the vacuum between layers.

No This has not happened to mine but, but I have noticed a strange white film inside after use. I only use it for water. I am disappointed the "cold"lid also leaks!
