This is the best pedal I own
We all know (being somewhat facetious but mostly truthful) that Fender has the clean game and Marshall owns distortion. I have a Blues Jr. that I love. Thick but somehow still clear. Deep and resonant but articulate cleans. Driving that amp with the onboard volume switch is underwhelming. I don't need metal level distortion but its nice to really drive that amp. I asked a friend about what pedal I should buy to drive my low volume amp that would get me anything from Jimmie Vaughan light distortion all the way up to (and preferably past) Jimmy Page. Good lord this pedal is fantastic. It's tiny - so make sure you know it will not take a battery, but I love it. Great construction and most importantly, it sounds just like you think it should. I'll definitely be buying more Tone City pedals so it's a good thing they're so affordable!

Great crunch and sustain at a terrific price
I've never played a 100-watt Plexi with an old Les Paul so I have no idea is this mini pedal is a faithful recreation of the sound that we have long searched for - but it sure is fun. I plugged mine into a Fender solid-state amp and my Yamaha Revstar and hit a power chord and it was crunchy goodness. After using light to medium transparent overdrives, this almost felt like a fuzz pedal but better. The notes were clear and I it felt like the guitar tones of the classic rock I grew up with: ACDC, Aerosmith, VH and Sabbath. The gain knob doesn't appear to do very much but I still have play with it to get the variety of tones, but it sure does love humbuckers. And the sustain! Man, this is a fun pedal. Get one today.

Great pedal
All I can say is Wow! This pedal really delivers in the plexi sound and it's easy to taylor the gain, volume and tone. Quite a pedal, especially for the money!

Great little pedal for Marshall tones
I put this on my board in front of my TS 808, By itself, the Golden Plexi sounds great into my Blues Jr set clean, but into the TS, it goes the extra mile. Highly recommended if you are looking for a great Marshall In A Box pedal at a very reasonable price. Please note you need a 9v power supply, but I just used my existing power supply for my board, and it works great!

This pedal sounds like a Marshall...no doubt
Pros:Sounds like a marshall..periodSmall footprintAmazing priceCons:After about 9 o'clock on gain knob, not a lot of difference...just a lot of gainAt full gain and full treble tone, it gets a little squeakyBetween 8 and 9 o clock is the sweet spot. 8 o clock is classic lower gain marshall sound...overtones and all...I was floored by this. Run it at noon for leads. As for the cons above, there is no need to run it that hot so no big deal.I've played for 40 years...this pedal is the real dealNOTE: this requires a power supply...no battery compartment.THANK YOU EARTH CITY!!

Worth the money
Pretty good Marshall sound. Good enough for my demo purposes.

Very nice plexi sound for a very good price
AC/DC tones all day long. Put a tube screamer in front of it, and get more 80's metal tones, (Judas Priest, Dokken, etc.) Works great into a clean amp. This is the first distortion pedal I've ever owned that was better than "meh." This thing is excellent. It's a bit of a one trick pony, but it's a really good trick.

Great pedal great price!!
I use 3 different overdrive pedals on my board and this one has just the right Marshall tone I was looking for at a very reasonable price. I also have a Nobels and Morning Glory and it compliment the other sounds extremely well.

Marshall high gain pedal
Looks to be a well-constructed pedal. It has a surprising amount of gain on tap. I play mostly classic rock and 90ies rock. Setting the gain at 9 o'clock is perfect. Gain set above 10 o'clock is just too much for me. I do like the tone - saturated and harmonic overdrive/distortion. The tone control is very responsive, which I like. However, it doesn't sound much like a cranked marshall amp. If you're looking to get an AC/DC tone, you'll need to roll off your guitar volume to tame the gain. I prefer the pedal through single-coil guitars- my Fender Stratocaster loves this pedal. My Les Paul and PRS have hotter pickups which don't play as well with this pedal. Like most mini-pedals, it doesn't accept a 9v battery and instead needs to be powered by an external power supply (not included).
