Dista - Refrigerator Water Filter Compatible with LG LT800P (1 Pack)

I bought this and the minute I installed it, it shot black particles out of my water spout. For about 10 minutes I had to run my water to make it clear again. Then my fridge told me to "replace water filter."I am in the process of returning it. If I get a replacement and it works, I will update this review. I might just spend the extra money to get the LG brand filter though.

Be very careful. There is something wrong with this filter. The original LG filter gave excellent drinking water for 6 months, time to replace. I tried this filter, got the blach charcoal water but it cleared. Now there is a strong metal or chemical taste in the water that we can't get rid of. It seems the filter is another product from China that does not pass the manufacturers guidelines. I'm afraid of what is coming out of the filter, gonna get the original from LG.

The filter fits and works fine. You get a bit of a shock initially as it spits and spews tinted water for a while. It is black in color so it's probably the carbon media but, it is a surprise. I have changed many water filters but this is a first, most run clear initially. The manufacturer needs to properly clean the carbon media prior to loading the cartridge.

We've had great luck with these filters for our LG fridge.The price is great, and it's easy to use. We didn't notice any problems with bad-tasting water. I should note that we followed our LG manual instructions for flushing the system before drinking the output, and so that may have helped us avoid problems that others reported. ("After the water filter is replaced, dispense 2.5 gallons of water (flush for approximately five minutes) to remove trapped air and contaminants from the system. Do not dispense the entire 2.5 gallon amount continuously. Depress and release the dispenser pad for cycles of 30 seconds ON and 60 seconds OFF." That's kind of a pain, but we have to do the same thing with LG brand filters. I don't blame the filter manufacturer for that.)

Exact replacement for my refrigerator. Got it here cheaper than anywhere else online or otherwise.Always run some water through a new filter before drinking. I got some black water at first, due to the carbon in the filter itself. Works great and my water tastes awesome. My original filter lasted almost 6 months of heavy use. I expect this one to do the same.

I have no issues. This is my second purchased and I am satisfied with the product.

I got my order superquick and the removal of my old filter and the installation of the new one was super easy. I can't speak for how the filter works because I don't have the ability to test for the contaminants it says it takes out of the system all I can attest for is how quick I got my product, and how easy the installation was.

Used to get my filters from a parts appliance store at almost $80 per filter. I was so happy to find this filter on Amazon for a lot less. Fits perfect same great taste.
