Q: what is the size of pvc pipe that you used this?

I used 1 1/2 inch pipe schedule 40. You need the extra thickness od schedule 40 style to work properly.

Q: Why does this only fit snug into a size 1-3/8” diameter pvc tube?

It’s designed for that size pipe. The cap will be right up against the end of the pipe when you insert it. Makes a nice tight fit.

Q: will this cap work/fit on 1.25" pvc as an end cap? i'm attempting to make dog beds... i would try the external caps but they are quite spendy. thanks

This will work inside of 1-1/4" Schedule 40 PVC pipe only. The outside diameter of the pipe should be 1.660", and the inside diameter should be approximately 1.317". This will not work with Schedule 80 or thinwall PVC pipe.
