The Coloring Book of Cards and Envelopes: Summertime

24 cute ocean/seashore related color yourself cards plus 24 foldable coordinating envelopes and stickers
The media could not be loaded. While the title of this set of cards refers to Summertime, the cards are mostly a ocean/seashore theme. There are a couple which show plants, butterflies and birds but most show fish, sea birds, shells, seals, and other subjects related to the ocean. The designs are extremely cute with areas to color or write in on all sides of the note cards. In addition to the set of color yourself cards, the set also comes with fold it yourself coordinating envelopes and stickers to seal them with. The envelopes have areas to color and decorate as well and the inside of the envelope is done is a all-over coordinating design. The designs are detailed and some have a few intricate areas to color. I don't find them difficult to color but they may present issues for someone with vision or fine motor skill issues. The cards are printed on a medium weight card stock while the envelopes are printed on a heavy weight paper. All of the pages are perforated for easy removal from the book, however, you still need to cut (using scissors or paper cutter) certain parts of the page. Each page of cards has two cards on it with a cutting line to separate them. The book also recommends that you trim the perforated side of the cards and the envelopes to neaten the edge as it is slightly rough once it is removed from the book. The fold lines are lightly scored on both the cards and the envelopes. There are written instructions on the method of folding the envelopes as well as stickers at the back of the book that can be used to help seal the envelopes. My alcohol-based markers bled through both types of paper. My water-based markers were mixed. None of them bled through the note card paper but all but Tombow brush end markers bled through the envelopes.Gel pens and India ink pens did not bleed through or leave marks on the back of either types of paper. I really liked the way that my India ink pens worked with and looked like with these cards.Colored pencils work well with the slight rough texture. I got could color with both oil and wax based pencils. I was also able to layer and blend well using a blender stick.

AWESOME best coloring book-envelopes and cards w/ stickers -best quality. HUGE
I LOVE this. It's HUGE and thick and nice quality paper I almost returned this due to spending too much on coloring books, but it was too late to cancel and I'm so thankful I didn't. For only 6$ it's my favorite of all coloring books for adults. I love to give gifts and cards and this has awesome envelopes and stickers. You can do accept detail on the envelopes if it's too much to color. Some of them are Simple and some more detailed but I'm hooked and I can't stop! I will definitely buy more from this company.

WaterTime would be a better title
Based on the “Summertime” title I’d assumed (silly me) the cards would reflect a summer-y motif but instead it should have been titled Water Creatures or Pond Friends ... with a few flowers. 17 of the 24 cards have the a ‘beach’ theme for sure ~ 4 of the 17 are just seashells. The remaining 13 are turtles, jelly fish, sea lions, aquatic birds, sea horses, lobsters, dolphins, crabs, and of course... octopus. I know they are ever present in my ‘vaca on the beach’ memories, as I’m sure they are in everyone else’s.(insert eye roll here)I’ve enjoyed the other books in the series I’ve gotten (although truthfully I’m not a fan of mice ~ don’t want them in my home; don’t have any as pets; can’t imagine wanting to color them ~ let alone send out a card decorated with mice to loved ones ... and idk anyone else who’s pining for that opportunity either ~ so idk why they were featured on several cards in the (‘Nature’ book) ... but I digress.Summertime is a time to frolic in the sun, perhaps on the beach, yes... but maybe just with a cold beverage or on a picnic or taking a hike... the ideas are endless.Apparently the only endless ideas they had were varying types of pond, lake, and sea creatures.So... if that’s your idea of Summertime... this is the book for you!(Insert exasperated rye roll here)

Really more ocean critter themed, but charming!
I had purchased A Year of Celebrations by the same author, and was disappointed in that because many of the illustrations looked downright childish, and I would give them to children to color in and send, but would hesitate to do the same myself. This on the other hand was a totally charming surprise -- I had forgotten my pre-order for this or I may have cancelled because of my experience with the other book, and instead was delighted. I like being able to calmingly color and then to be able to share my efforts.

Pretty cool!
Love these! I had some gal pals over to color with me and it was fun! I like the practicality of a greeting card combined with the fun of coloring. Be prepared to spend time on these if using markers because of the detail; however, if you use colored pencils, you can cover a larger area and save a bit of time. Fun project with adults and kids alike! Who doesn't like receiving a card that someone picked out, and colored especially for them, including the envelope?I bought the Flowers & Butterflies book, and love it too!

Excellent quality
My son enjoys coloring the cards and envelopes from this book and the other designed books like it by this company. The cards and envelopes can be a challenge to fold; but, I learned to lightly score them and cut the excessive paper from the corners of the envelopes, this removes some of the bulk making it easier to fold. I found that stick glue works best in the assembly of the envelope. We mail the cards in a slightly larger standard size envelope which protects our work and only requires standard postage.

All oceans and beaches. No sentiments. But, same quality paper for colored pencil.
Four stars because there’s no sentiments on these cards. So, if you want to just make blank note cards for summer, it’s fine. Also, it’s just ocean and beach images. There’s only a couple flower cards in the whole set and I’m sorry, but there’s way more to summer than ocean and beaches. Maybe this is why it was so inexpensive. I should have taken a better look at the reviewers photos. My bad. But, that being said, it’s the same lovely quality as all the other books. I may just give it to my neices to color...

Disappointed - all fish and shellfish..
Very disappointed in this one. I have had all the other colouring book(s) of cards & envelopes, and loved them. But this one is all fish and shelfish on the cards. Not flowers, as I would have expected. So, sorry, but I just cannot give it more than one star.
