Super red vibrant color
Liked it a lot. My hair has highlights so it took on super red vibrant color. Although it took a lot more than 4 shampoos to take it all out, and you are warned about it in the instructions.

Finally, blue coloring for really dark hair!
This was our 3rd attempt at finding blue dye that would actually show up in my son's very dark, almost-black hair. We tried Punky Color...twice (didn't work) and we tried Splat Pure Sapphire made for dark hair (didn't work). This was finally the answer! It was super easy to apply, dried quickly and looked great. I read the negative reviews about dry, straw-like hair, but for very short hair it was no trouble at all. Easily combed it with a regular comb. So far there hasn't been any mess at all. My son loves it! It's not super vibrant blue like he originally wanted, but it's a really cool, almost metallic looking blue.

Hard on hair and color rubs off
Ugh. I disliked so many things about this product, but the main points are this:1) this does rub off on your hands2) it definitely took more than 2-3 wages to get it out of my hair3) and it left the texture of my hair brittle for days.Positives: the color was pretty, but mostly outside in the sunlight. Even in a well lit bathroom I couldn't accurately see how the color was turning it, which made it difficult to gauge how much more color to put on.Negatives: see all of the above.I had hoped for a better solution than some temporary spray on hair color for Halloween, and this did not deliver. Back to the drawing board next year.

... the only thing I've found which will provide a nice, vibrant blue color on top of my jet ...
I'm honestly shocked at all the negative reviews of this product as it's the only thing I've found which will provide a nice, vibrant blue color on top of my jet black (dyed) hair. Today I dyed my hair, and followed it up, when dried, with an application of this product, and now have super-vibrant blue stripes in my hair. My method is to use a tint brush to apply the product on my dry hair, and then to take a vented brush and hair dryer and brush it through until it's dry and smooth. I have always hated to have to bleach my hair in order to get colorful streaks or highlights, and hate the color run-off in my shower and on my pillows from semi-permanent dyes like Manic Panic, so this product is pretty much my dream come true--and, by the way, I find it lasts through three or four shampoos (rather than the "two shampoos" promised by the box).

This stuff works pretty good **IF** you follow the directions!!
I was pretty hesitant to purchase this stuff after reading these bad reviews. However, I came across it at Target yesterday and figured for what they were charging, it wouldn't hurt to test it out on one strand of hair and see how it worked. My hair: Brown (a shade or two lighter than the model's), quite long, and very fine, straight and easily damaged. Before I started applying the color, I read the instructions and noticed they seemed oddly specific, so I followed them instead of squeezing the color directly onto the strand and THEN spreading like I do with normal color. Here's what you have to do:1. Squeeze just a *few* drops of color onto your fingertips2. Rub your fingertips together so the product is spread across all of your digits3. Stroke down the length of your hair4. Comb through (I combed in between every layer)Sure enough, this seems to be the trick - I applied about five coats of color in this manner, and my hair is easy to comb through! There is no major difference in the texture of my hair - if anything, it just feels as if I'd sprayed a mist of light hold hairspray on my hair and combed it out.To see if application method was the problem others were having, I put several drops of color onto my fingertips (without rubbing my fingers together) and applied the color. Sure enough, the spot where I touched the color to my hair feels much different than the rest of the strand. I think the issue is that it's like chalk - if you apply a concentrated amount to one area, you really can't spread it.On the downside, applying the color in this manner takes a VERY long time, which is where the product loses a star. Unless you have short hair, you'll find yourself applying layer after layer of color onto one strand. I applied six coats of color onto one strand and spent about five minutes working it all through, and the strand still isn't 100% saturated and spread evenly. If you're planning on coloring your whole head and are going to follow instructions, you may be spending A LOT of time applying this stuff! The color was decent - much better than I'd expect on my brown hair. Similar to the color depicted on the box, just not as vibrant.Ultimately, I realized that this color purple won't replace my desire for lavender hair (which is clearly only going to be possible if I bleach my hair!) so I've decided to not color any more of my hair. However, if you're a brunette looking to dye your hair this shade of purple without having to bleach, I'd recommend this product. Just know that you WILL have to invest some time into applying this stuff right.

Don't do it.
I tried this one and the blue one in my pink hair. For being bleached and dyed my long pink hair was pretty healthy, until this. When you put it in, let it dry and go to brush the sections, it tears the hair up. Think teasing on steroids. Then it felt so gross in my hair, like lots and lots of hair chalk. I would leave the house with my hair done and come home after few hours looking like never brushed it cause it had so much texure from the product. I wanted to wash it out ASAP. It look 4 washes, every day when I normally wash it a couple times a week. So that was hard on my hair too, my hair stylist could tell my hair had thinned out from all the rough treatment! Pass. Although it didn't stain.

Best blue and most consistent
I tried several brands and shades of blue, this was the most vibrant and consistent. I have naturally reddish brown hair with some processed highlights. The blue was bright and performed well on all my existing color. It lasted a few shampoos, and wasn't unpleasant to remove. Depending on the light, it always appeared blue, although in some indoor lighting slightly greenish. Still good, i woukd get it again.

Pretty but not worth it
The color looked so great on me I was so excited to use it for a rock concert. I did not read the reviews and didn't realise it would make a lot of hair fall out and make it feel so ugly and poofy and dead. I regret it now and it's been a week and I'm still trying to get my hair back into health. I'm use to my hair always being shiny long and black but now it's so frizzy and it feels fried. 😢
