I am sure the product is great ... I have used these before. But how it was stored at the warehouse ... it had been soaked ... the paper label on it was still wet and when I tried to remove it, took off part of the cover.It had also been banged up, so the spine was separated from the back of the safe and the corners were bent.I need to use it ASAP for an activity, so I am not returning, but I am upset by how it was cared for before it was sent to me.

I got my package and all looked good however the keys were inside the book safe . Keys locked in the safe????? Thank goodness I read other reviews on how to pry space open and shake the safe until you can grab the keys out. Not helpful in anyway but I would buy another knowing the expectation now. Safe is nice looking and book details. Just wish the keys were separated.

I use this for medications I don’t want stolen or to avoid kids getting into. I keep it hidden in a drawer where other books are so unless someone actually lifts it and shakes it, they’d never know it’s a safe. I wouldn’t depend on this as a serious lock box as it seems like it can be broken into quite easily. If you are using it as a decoy mixed with other books, it does what it’s supposed to.I can fit one large and 2 regular prescription bottles along with one good size necklace box stored in it. I do have one large medicine bottle that fits without the cap on the bottle so I have to improvise on keeping the contents of that bottle from falling out the bottle. I also have to arrange the bottles so their tops are farthest away from the lock side in order to shut and lock.

I have a ton of books so this worked out perfect for me.

I actually wasn't looking for a book-safe. I wanted something for my "mid-century modern" decor living room. This book: "Hollywood, and Marilyn Monroe, fit that era (mid 1940's to mid 1960's) perfectly. It looks great and the book-safe feature in a bonus.

I had a problem opening the box, since the keys were inside the box and I had to use something to pry it open and shake part of the key out. I was able to pull one key through, took it off the key ring holding it to the other key, and then I was able to open the box. It is light weight and looks more like a book, so if someone is not paying attention, they would skip over it.
