Quality rope and a great work out
I had never used a battle rope before, but had wanted to try one for a while. For those days I can't make it to the gym, I wanted to have something I could use at home in combination with my kettlebells and resistance band. I went back and forth on whether I should order a rope without trying one first, but I broke down and made the order. I'm glad I did. I have used it twice now, and its a good workout. It's definitely harder than what I thought it would be. The motion and movement is easy enough to pick up, but the hard part is the stamina it requires. It will definitely make you work.I ordered the 1.5", 50ft rope. I had been debating which to get, and I'm glad I chose this size. For the diameter, 1.5" is a lot thicker than I thought it would be. I would think this would suit most people. Unless you are Captain America, The Incredible Hulk, or someone experienced with battle ropes, you probably want to go with a 1.5".For the length, the shorter the rope, the easier the work out. If you're not sure go with the 50ft. The reason for this is two fold:1) it will give you something to work up to2) if you want to shorten the rope, you can. Just join the rope together closer to the handles than where the actual bend is and anchor it from that point. Easy enough.Shipping:I received the rope using Amazon free shipping and had it within 5 days. Great. It came without a shipping receipt inside the box, but I'm fine with that.Quality:This is a very good quality rope. After reading the reviews, I decided to go with this rope based on the fact it received good reviews for the quality of the rope and that it shouldn't fray. After seeing it, I can confirm this is really nice quality. I have only used it once, but I don't expect there to be any issues with fraying.End Handles:The handles on this seem to have been applied via heat shrinking, which is really the only way to go on this. Otherwise, they will slip off too easily. I looked at these pretty closely and they seem to be correctly applied and should stay for quite a long time. I don't see any problems with this. They are firm and provide a nice grip.Protection Sheath / Sleeve:One thing I had wondered about before ordering this was when you connect the middle of the rope to your anchor, would this cause wear (fraying) on the middle of the rope. I was planning on rigging up some sort of nylon sheath to run the rope through to protect it. So I was surprised when I got the rope and found out it came with a nylon sleeve already. After going back and reviewing the pictures on the Amazon page, I did see the sleeve shown. I guess I wasn't paying as much attention as I thought I was when reading the product details originally (maybe my wife is right...)One thing I might do is get a piece of chalk and mark on the rope where the sleeve should be centered so it is in the middle. Before I first used it, I had to lay the rope out and align it into the middle. I don't know if this will slip when rolling it up after use (I doubt it will), but I might just mark it with chalk to make aligning it up in the future easier.Anchor:You can anchor the rope in a myriad of ways. The most common seems to be running the rope around the pole. I even saw a method of using the handle on your kettlebell and using the kettlebell as an anchor. I have a 60lb kettlebell, which might be enough weight to hold it without flopping around, but it has a vinyl coating on it and I didn't want to take the chance of it rubbing off. Plus, I'm not sure if the rope would feed through the handle (it might be a little tight).I had originally tried this with running it around a pole, as well as using a strap coming off another strap I had attached to the pole. Neither way was ideal as I noticed a lot of play in the movement of the rope. The rope would run up and down the pole slightly, which made it harder to get a good set of waves going when using the rope.I decided I wanted to anchor this into the ground in my back yard. So instead of buying an anchor on line, I decided to go to the home improvement store to find something because, well, I'm a guy and it sounded like a good excuse to go. I ended up buying a corkscrew stake and a gear tie. With the stake I can move it around, and the gear tie allowed for easy on and off, and it could be re-purposed if needed. This solution seems to work really well.I attached a few pictures showing how I anchored this, as well as a picture of the sleeve.

Wow.
I have seen this being used on UFC programs and a the like. wanting to change up my work out, I got this and gave it a try. It proceeded to stomp a mud hole in me. Quality wise, this rope seems sturdy and the covered ends help with keeping them from fraying. The internet is full of routines. Get yours and see what works best, but be prepared to get ridden hard and put away wet.

I would like to get a shorter one for faster
I got the 50ft 1.5 inch. It kicks my butt. I would like to get a shorter one for faster, more cardio workouts, but I can just loop the longer rope a few times and do the same thing. It's a fun workout and I've had literally zero problems with this rope thus far. If something happens where this one stops working, I would buy this same one again. Good product, good price.

If your looking for a great workout these ropes will do the job
If your looking for a great workout these ropes will do the job. I am 5' female and was going to get the shorter ropes but opted to go with the 50 foot ropes so that my son can use them as well. They are great to use indoor since they do not shred and can be used outside as well.

Gets the job done.
Rope frays much too easy, concerned about the life span of these ropes. So far no issues but will likely be resorting to duct tape sooner than anticipated.

I got a dud...(?)
As excited as I was to get home to try this rope out, unfortunately it didn't even make it through the first round in my circuit without fraying in two spots. I hope I got a defective one and this doesn't represent the quality of the product overall. I will be returning.

So far so good.
For the money seems like a good deal so far! Only time will tell if it holds up.

Three Stars
Good product works as advertised. however it frays way to easy if not used on mats or smooth surfaces.
