A cheap broken toy.
After only two weeks of limited use, some of the buttons on the key pad failed. Without programming software and a programming cable, making any changes is impossible. I am also beginning to suspect that there is no longer any audio when transmitting. One day after submitting this review, the radio began to shut off when ever I pressed the PTT. Needless to say its on the scrap heap.

YES!, It works.
I have it hooked up to a Yagi antenna on the roof and a power supply. Also, a second homemade antenna is hooked up as well. I was able to hit Mt. Diablo repeater which is 20 miles away on the 2 meter, and Loma Prieta repeater which is about 50 miles away on the 70cm. I'm told I have decent audio and very little noise. You can get a better mic, it is a Kenwood type RJ45 connector.

Same as LEIXEN LX-VV, cheap little FCC part 90 appoved radio
Petty sure this is the same as the LEIXEN LX-VV, (i have both). It uses the same programming software, has the same stickers, all specs are the same, has the FCC approval sticker. Firmware is version 1.08.I only use them at at 5 watts because thats my FCC license maximum power.Manual programming has problems with naming channels deleting other named channels so get/make the programming cable for any advanced programming.I am not sure how sturdy they are, they have only seen light use.UPDATE: 2/4/19 All are working perfectly (i have 3 now) . No problems so far.

Very small, programed as LT-898UV on Chirp software.
I programed my favorite frequencies using Chirp sofware and using LT-898UV as the radio model. Has worked well.
