needed quite a bit of fitting with hand files and small power tools to get a tight fit around my japanese short sword tang. alson close fitting of the hardware and guard to the tang was time consuming. The hardest fitting was drilling the tang pin hole into the handle once fitted having to measure the center of the tang with a micrometer to get exact point of drill hole on the outsice of handle for proper tight fit. The final produce is very nice and I now need to spend 3-6 months in final polish and sharpening of this broken Katana as a reshaped shorter Waizaki Short Sword from an original WWII Katana
