Take your time, it'll be fine
Fairly easy to install, but if you're using the regular filter and not the string wound one, I recommend once you snug Big Blue down, put a small piece of tape from the bowl to the housing, then cut the tape between the housing edge and filter bowl. Back the filter housing off about a turn and tighten it again with your wrench past the tape. Remark the new tape alignment. Do this several times. The purpose is to 'seat' the filter into the housing, so the O-ring seals properly, otherwise you may have a heavy leak at the point where the filter bowl screws in.

Junk Fulters
I ordered these to have on hand when it was time to replace my filter on a Culligan Whole House Filter model WH-HD200-C Whole House Heavy Duty Water Filtration System. The water filter system uses R50-BBSA, CW25-BBS, CP5-BBS, CW5-BBS or RFC-BBSA replacement filters. These filters are supposed to be compatible with the Culligan RFC-BBSA filters but they do not fit correctly. Do not waste your time or money, get the real thing, I just threw these in the garbage.

Does not filter properly.
It is not typical for me to leave a review, especially a bad one, but I have to warn other people who have wells not to buy this product. When I first installed it, I thought it was great that I could see the filter element easily through the casing of my filter. I could see particles and black sand collecting on the outside of the filter. Later I noticed black sand particles in the water buckets I used to irrigate my garden. I went ahead and changed the filter (it was a two pack) and checked again. I also checked my cold water in my kitchen sink and sure enough... black sand. It seems to get by the filter somehow, perhaps because it does not have a rubber seal on the top and bottom side and simply relies on the filter element to create a seal.Bottom line is, these filters do not filter the sand out adequately, and was a waste of nearly $30. Now I am worried about how much sand has collected in my softener and potassium permanganate filters, along with my fixtures!

First filter experience
I'm not sure if I taste any difference in our water, but I do see the silt that this thing catches. It has turned brown after about 6 weeks so I guess it is doing its job. I have another one as I ordered a two pac (RIP TUPAC) and I will probably stick with these unless for some reason they grow teeth and bite one of us.

Great Filters
These filters really do the job taking out the flakes of metal that are coming off the casing of my well. It is an old well and of course the casing is rusting apart but the filters take the small pieces out of the water lines so my drip lines no longer plug up. Great filters and good price and I will buy them again. Thank You.

Great filter
These are filtering my water as it enters the building from the well pump. Although not a carbon filter, i can see that this is filtering out particles (i have a clear filter bowl). My water quality isnt as bad as i thought, so i should be able to get at least 6 months out of one filter

had to change early
We have a little light that flashes on a timer base to tell us when we need to change the whole house water filer. This one seemed fine at first but then the smell of the water began to get bad and we had to change the filter sooner than we do when we purchase other brands.

Great filter
I put this filter in a week ago. It's already dark brown. I'm currently filling my swimming pool so I've already got 10K gallons through it, but I know it's working well.
