Very well made
I've been an electrician for 35 years and have used a lot of crimp connectors. Tinned copper is the way to go. These connectors are well made and work perfectly. Just a note to the average user, you need a large crimp tool to secure these. If you think you can do it with a small hand-held crisper, you can't. That's true of any crimp connector of this size.

Need to Provide Exact Specification Before and After Crimping
An Online chart referred 2 AWG = 0.258 inch bare diameter. It did not work for the 1/4 inch stranded wire (with 3/8 inch insulation) after crimping. Lug opening = 21/64 inch (0.3281 inch) drill bit. The opening is too great to compress down to slightly below 1/4 inch (0.250 inch) to tighten against the wiring, which leaves excess dog ears. Recommend seller to specify the initial opening, which can compress down to the min. size. Will have to order smaller size lugs to see if this will correct the problem. Used a YQK-300 Hydraulic Crimping Tool with die #25.

nice quality, helped our DIY car repair
we have a MK4 Jetta that had the dreaded "fuse box meltdown", after attempting a new box with cleaning up the oxidized cable best we could only to have it melt again a month later we opted to spring for a hydraulic hex crimper, 4ga copper welding wire and two sizes of Selterm tinned copper wire lugs (one for each end of the new alternator cable we we assembled to resolve our problem)the items arrived quickly and look to be of quality expected. all 10 lugs look to be well made with no inconsistencies/flaws, and our test cable and actual cable worked well.car is fixed, wife is happy.

Does not fit number four cable
This product was advertised along with my original purchase of number for cable as a customer suggestion. Do you original kit that I bought was short for eyelets so I bought this kit. It is advertised as for Gage , It’s not even close I had to remove a portion of the copper winding to get these over the actual cable as well as the whole size why is half the size of the original order. For something so small you’re better to go to a box store pay a few pennies extra and get an accurate product and description

Inexpensive parts get the job done
I'm up to my ears in a boat rewiring project. I needed a number of battery/power cables of specific lengths, and was growing increasingly horrified by how much custom cables actually cost. So I decided to make my own custom cables - I got some 4GA cable, assorted appropriately-sized crimps (these parts), and a crimper/cutter tool combination, and then got busy.In the end, I was able to make a half-dozen custom-length cables for about half the cost of "professionally made" versions. It helped that I was a professional cable/harness maker in a previous life - I do know what I'm doing here. I'm also an engineer by training and profession, as well as a big MacGuyver fan - I take some small amount of pride in being able to get the job done, no matter what it is.There is certainly a trick to getting good big-cable crimps from inexpensive tools and parts, but it CAN be done. It just takes practice, patience, and a learning curve.

Highly recommended.
I used to spend a ton of $$$$ on Ancor products, then I found these marine wire connectors, and started using them. There is no difference in the connector except spending extra $$$$. I did order several of different sizes, so I do not run out. I still shop Ancor products but not for connectors. Highly recommended.

great product! heavy duty! buyer beware : if you look at the charts. they offer two different sizes for each size. "W" at the end of the product number means "wide foot print"theres no option to let them know the one you want. other then that there "good to go!"larry

Worked well...
As advertised, worked great! I think the 2/0 wire I was using may have been slightly undersized as I found I received better results if I used the next size down die for the crimper. These terminals would pinch in the smaller die, but that is not a fault of the terminals. So far my connections have looked great and have held up well...granted time will tell.
