The outer edge sticks-up when fully-inserted, as the curve out of the terminals is a much lesser degree than the original (90○)-see pics.I tried bending the coils, and did a little, but it's difficult to exert much force, when concerned about breaking it.I then bent the prongs down a bit, and although it sticks up less, is still not flush with the top of the range.I decided to take the chance of bending it in a workbench vise, where it might possibly break, but it actually worked.I didn't overly-tighten the vice teeth on the coil stem, just enough to hold it, then gently pushed on the main portion, until it appeared enough to lay flat, which it did when I re-installed it, and checked to insure it still heated.Since it's half the price of Lowe's or Home Depot, it was worth the extra effort, I think.

I had to order a new one of these because the original one at my house was stuck inside of my stove top and wouldn't pull out. With a little elbow grease I did manage to get it out but i didn't want to put it back in there and risk it getting stuck again. So i ordered this one and with my fingers crossed and thankfully it came looking almost exactly similar to the old one. All i had to do was slide it right in, turn it on to test it and it was working like magic and most of all it wont be stuck or have a chance to be stuck for a LONG LONG time. I do suggest paying attention to the model and serial number of your oven, this will help you out big time!!

I bought a new GE stove and the only option is to get it with burners that self-regulate temperature for "safety" purposes. Right, safe that you will never boil pasta or maintain a good frying temperature because the lawyers at GE apparently never actually COOK. If you look on the official sites like Home Depot, it says you cannot replace them with standard burners like these. HOGWASH. These work perfectly and have for the past 4 months of solid cooking. I can boil water quickly and consistently. I can heat oil for frying and the oil stays consistently hot. I highly recommend this solution instead of screaming at the stove when it just decides you're being unsafe in your boiling or frying habits. To replace the factory versions, just lift them on the opposite side of the plug-in and gently pull until they slide out. You may need to straighten the plug wires on the new one a little, but it is easily done with just your fingers. Once aligned like the old burner, position it just like you did to remove the old one, slide it into the plug and then gently but firmly push in until it seats in the plug enough so that the support fins will go into the drip pan slots. That's it! No tools needed. Whole thing takes 30 seconds. DO IT!!!

After installing it, with some effort, skillets rock on it. Prevents good heat transfer and produces hot spot. I bought a brand new quality skillet. Same problem. Cheap, but no bargain. I should probably return it and buy a name brand replacement at HD.

Fit great for my old stove thank god lol renting and needed to replace it. Partner accidentally melted bowl on burner do this replacement did the trick. Now landlord won't know lol thank you seller and Amazon for making life easier

Dislikes-Unit arrived with bent prongs.Prong connectors were slightly longer than original.Did not lay flat and took work to get it to do so.Likes-Heated well, no issues.Looks pretty much like the original.The cost (but) you get what you pay for.Overall my expectations weren't high and I did read reviews prior to purchasing. Time will tell how it holds up.
