Hi June,You can definitely use PondCare Algaefix on a 15 gallon tank. API also sells the exact same Algaefix for aquariums. Pretty much the same product but different labels.

Q: Is this safe for pond trapdoor snails?

Yes, this is ok to use pond snails. Please be aware API Algaefix removes snail's food source. You may have to supplement feed.

API Algaefix is a great product to control your algae concerns and comes in different packaging. The packaging for ponds is to be used in ponds and the packaging for aquariums is to be used in aquariums. Algaefix is a registered product with the EPA and strict guidelines such as distinct packaging is required. If you are dosing 15 gallons then the dose would be 1.5 ml per 15 gallons. It is important to follow all label instructions when using any EPA registered product.
